Editor's note: Prosecutors filed a notice of Nolle Prosequi on Nov. 27, 2017 in the charge against Amy Giacometti and will not pursue the case.

Deputies on Tuesday arrested a woman they say took her daughter for a walk in North Naples while drunk and fell unconscious at an intersection along Vanderbilt Beach Road.

Amy Giacometti, 38, was booked at the Naples Jail Center and faces a felony charge of child neglect without great bodily harm, according to a Collier County Sheriff's Office arrest report.

Witnesses told deputies that they saw a woman staggering behind a child who was riding a bicycle and crossing the intersection of Vanderbilt Beach Road and Hammock Oak Drive, according to the report. The woman was "having difficulty keeping up with the child" and walked from one end of the intersection to the other, the child "aimlessly following," according to witnesses interviewed by investigators.

The woman sat down at the southwest corner of the intersection and then fell back on the ground, the report states.

When investigators got to the scene, they identified the woman as Giacometti and found a nearly-empty 25-ounce bottle of vodka in a black bag she was carrying, officials say.

A group of bystanders looked after the child, who rode a pink bicycle with training wheels, while first responders tended to the woman.

First responders found her "heavily impaired" and unconscious and took her to a hospital, the report states.

Detectives later learned that Giacometti "consumed a large amount of Vodka" over the course of about two hours while walking with the child from their home, which was redacted from the report, to the Pelican Bay Community Park.

Giacometti bonded out Wednesday, according to Sheriff's Office arrest logs.
