Prep roundup: Palmetto Ridge baseball beats Community School

The Palmetto Ridge High School baseball team beat Community School 9-1 at home on Tuesday night.

The Bears broke a 1-1 tie in the fifth inning, scoring two runs. Palmetto Ridge added six more runs in the sixth to seal the victory.

Michael Maxwell led the Bears, going 2 of 2 with a single, a triple and four RBIs. Kenneth Geiger added a pair of RBI singles, while Jeff Pelletier finished with an RBI triple and a sacrifice fly.

Steven Laboy picked up the win, surrendering one run one hit, while striking out four in four innings.

SEACREST 6, RIVERDALE 4: The Stingrays broke a 4-4 tie in the top of the ninth inning on a two-run single by Matt Hurley.

Seacrest (16-8) hosts St. John Neumann on Thursday at 3 p.m.

CYPRESS LAKE 12, NAPLES 8: Trey Heiser and Andrew Wright each hit a home run for the Golden Eagles.

Naples is at Bishop Verot on Thursday at 7 p.m.

IDA BAKER 1, GULF COAST 0: The Bulldogs scored a run in the fifth on an RBI double by Tony Rios.

Gulf Coast is at Island Coast on Thursday at 6 p.m.
