Human remains found in shed after Jefferson County fire

Human remains were found in a shed in Jefferson County after a fire at a home in the Town of Ixonia, the Sheriff's Office said Tuesday.

The shed and residence were both burning when firefighters arrived at the home at 2355 W. Northside Road shortly before 6:30 a.m. Monday, according to a news release from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.

The identity of the remains had not been determined Tuesday night, and no further information was available, according to the release.
