Kenosha police responded about 8:25 a.m. A Kenosha Police School resource officer, who was at the school, intervened and took the suspect into custody.

After-school activities at Bradford High School were canceled. Students and staff were released from school at 10:30 a.m. but were told that school would be back in session Wednesday.

A statement released by the Kenosha school district said, "Our thoughts are with the hospitalized student and the family."

Two teenage boys were involved in the incident but police declined to release their ages or names or a motive for the attack. The weapon, believe to be a knife, was recovered at the scene. The suspect was immediately taken into custody following the stabbing, Kenosha Police Sgt. James Beller said.

The case will be referred to the Kenosha County district attorney's office for possible charges.
