Prep roundup: St. John Neumann baseball beats Immokalee

The St. John Neumann High School baseball team beat Immokalee 3-1 on the road Monday night.

The Celtics broke a 1-1 tie in the top of the fourth, with an RBI double by Thomas Balboni, followed by Balboni coming home on a throwing error.

Balboni also picked up the save, coming in with one out in the seventh and retiring two batters.

"This was a much-needed quality win for our program,” St. John Neumann coach Juan Romero said. “We faced a well-coached team and our pitching and defense was simply outstanding the entire game."

St. John Neumann (18-5) hosts Lely on Senior Night, on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
