College roundup: AMU men's golf is ninth at Sun Conference Championship

The Ave Maria University men’s golf team remains ninth of 10 teams after the second round of the three-round Sun Conference Championship tournament at Fripp Island Ocean Point in Beaufort, South Carolina, on Monday.

Johnson & Wales leads the championship with a two-round score of 579. Southeastern is second (600) and Webber International is third (608).

AMU has a score of 644 (324-320).

James Desanges leads the Gyrenes in a tie for 19th of 49 golfers, with a total of 154 (72-82). Cameron Weikart is tied for 27th with a 157 (79-78). Andre Scopone is tied for 35th with a 161 (86-75). Michael Toomey is tied for 46th with a 172 (87-85) and Nicholas Dicioccio is 48th with a 188 (98-90).

The championship concludes on Tuesday.
