Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

WYMS-FM (88.9) has booked rising rapper Noname and indie rocker Strand of Oaks for its 88Nine Block Party June 24.

The free event, taking place outside the AAA radio station's studios at 220 E. Pittsburgh Ave., will also feature four Milwaukee acts: alternative folk band Field Report, synthpop trio Reyna, and soulful singer-songwriters D'Amato and Abby Jeanne.

The block party is part of the station's ongoing 10th-anniversary celebrations this year. Food vendors, Milwaukee-themed games and interactive art exhibits will be on site.

A limited number of VIP tickets — $88.90 for educators and 88Nine Radio Milwaukee members, or $100 for the general public — are available beginning at noon Tuesday for radio station members, and noon May 1 for the public, at bit.ly/88nineParty. They include two food servings, access to an after-party and more.
