Grilled Cheese Championship, Kohler Festival of Beer and more to do around Wisconsin

Kohler Festival of Beer, April 28-29, features a variety of events for craft beer lovers.

Throughout Wisconsin: Work Play Earth Day. If you missed Earth Day cleanups at state parks this weekend, you have another chance to help out on April 29. Join events at Harrington Beach (9 a.m.-3 p.m.), Mead Wildlife Area Center (9 a.m.-noon), Merrick (9 a.m.-noon), Richard Bong State Recreation Area (9 a.m.-noon), Stower Seven Lakes State Trail (9 a.m.-noon) and Whitefish Dunes (9 a.m.-3 p.m.). Chippewa Falls: Spring Fest. Celebrate Spring in Chippewa Falls April 28-30 with live music, a 5K run/walk, a classic car show, kids' activities and more. The festival is held at the Northern Wisconsin State Fairgrounds. Tickets are $8 at the gate; kids 12 and under get in free. See springfestchippewafalls.com.

Dodgeville: Wisconsin Grilled Cheese Championship. Watch grilled cheese masters compete for Wisconsin's top title at this competition from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 29 at the Ley Memorial Pavilion. Admission is free and includes cheese samples and live music. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. See grilledcheesewisconsin.com.

Kenosha: Get Behind the Arts Studio Tour. Take a self-guided tour of 67 artist studios around Racine and Kenosha April 28-30. The weekend kicks off with a preview party from 6 to 10 p.m. April 28 at 314 Sixth St., Racine. Most of the studios will be open 11 a.m.-5 p.m. April 29-30. See getbehindthearts.org.

Kohler: Festival of Beer. Enjoy a weekend of beer events in Kohler April 28-29. Highlights include a Salute to Swine from 7 to 9 p.m. April 28, featuring pork-inspired foods and craft beers served up alongside blues music; a 5K beer run at 7 a.m. April 29; and a Cheers to Beers beer tasting from 8 to 10 p.m. April 29. Madison: Crazylegs Classic. Join this 8K run or 2-mile walk through downtown Madison starting at 10 a.m. April 29. Both distances finish at Camp Randall Stadium with a post-race party featuring food, beverages and music. Registration for the 8K is $40 in advance and $45 the day-of; the 2-mile walk is $25.
