Chinn tells Missouri FFA members they don’t need a title

A farmer who says she never expected to be in public service tells Missouri FFA members they don’t have to have a title before their names to be a leader, “They can lead from where they’re at. And even today being a member of the FFA, even if they’re not an officer of their chapter, they’re a leader for agriculture. So, I just want them to realize the importance of their ability to represent their rural community and represent agriculture in every day of their life.” That’s Missouri Agriculture Director Chris Chinn, a fifth-generation farmer from Clarence, Missouri.

Chinn tells Brownfield she has full confidence in the next generation of Missouri farmers, “These kids have great ideas, they’re full of enthusiasm and energy and they know what it’s going to take to lead agriculture into the future. So, I have all the confidence in the world that they’re going to do a great job and surpass my generation in making sure agriculture is still there for the future generations.”

Director Chinn spoke at the opening of the 89th Missouri FFA Convention on the University of Missouri campus and presented grants and scholarships to winning chapter leaders.
