The Tennessee defensive linemen go through drills at spring practice on Tuesday.

The Tennessee football team began its final week of spring practice indoors.

Rain forced the Vols to conduct their 13th practice on Tuesday inside the Anderson Training Facility. The Vols have one more practice on Thursday before the Orange and White Game at 4 p.m. ET on Saturday in Neyland Stadium.

UT’s Tuesday practice was about 40 minutes shorter than usual. The Vols were expected to finish at 5:05 p.m. with coach Butch Jones, offensive coordinator Larry Scott, offensive lineman Jashon Robertson and defensive lineman Darrell Taylor scheduled to meet with the media in the aftermath.

A few other things from the portions of practice open to the media:

  • Defensive coordinator Brady Hoke demonstrated a punching drill on a bag after Alexis Johnson didn’t do it exactly like Hoke wanted.
  • Jones was back on the microphone to alert players to explain certain drills to the team.
  • The quarterbacks performed the usual footwork and throwing drills during the early portion of practice.
  • Dr. Jerry Punch attended practice. Punch is scheduled to work the spring game for the SEC Network with Clay Matvick and Clint Stoerner.
  • Among the players wearing green non-contact jerseys were: defensive back Rashaan Gaulden, linebacker Quart’e Sapp, wide receiver Brandon Johnson and Evan Berry.
