Former Tennessee running back Alvin Kamara crashed a graduation shoot on Friday on UT's campus.

It’s not every day a top NFL draft prospect crashes your graduation photo shoot.

That’s what happened on Friday when former Tennessee running back Alvin Kamara decided to jump in front of the camera while Daryl Johnson was taking graduation pictures of Jataun Bolen on the University of Tennessee campus.

“Jataun is really good friends with his girlfriend, who goes to UT, and he was in town to see her,” Johnson said. “He just happened to show up at the shoot and barged in. It was hilarious.”

Bolen was posing for photos near the Torchbearer and Ayres Hall. Among the props used during the shoot was a crown, which Kamara grabbed and placed on his head for a photo.

“We were both a little surprised when he did that. He’s always energetic. We had music playing and he got a little more excited,” Johnson said. “He didn’t really say anything. He just kind of jumped in the picture.”

Kamara has been busy preparing for the NFL draft, which begins April 27. The Georgia native is projected to be a first- or early second-round selection.

But it’s no surprise the fun-loving Kamara would make an appearance in someone else's graduation photos. After all, this is the same person who stood on his head while wearing a helmet during the Vols’ bowl practices last season.

Kamara stayed for the entire two-hour shoot and brought some friends.

“Jalen Reeves-Maybin showed up, as well as a few other football players,” said Johnson, referring to the former UT linebacker. “Kamara was just the only one that jumped in the picture with us.”

Johnson, 18, is a freshman at Tennessee majoring in advertising. The Texas native has been taking graduation pictures for the last two years. Bolen’s was his 25th graduation shoot this year and he had three more scheduled for Saturday.

“This just so happened to be my most exciting shoot,” Johnson said.
