Scarlet McSwain was the best friend of Tennessee's pitching staff Sunday, with her bat and her glove.

McSwain's grand-slam home run in the top of the first inning propelled the Vols to a 9-4 win over Kentucky in Lexington and completed a sweep of the series.

McSwain's fifth home run followed three walks off Kentucky starter Larissa Spellman. McSwain added an RBI single in the second inning to stake Caylan Arnold (15-4) to a 6-2 lead.

Kentucky was threatening in the bottom of the seventh with runners on second and third when McSwain reached over the fence in foul territory for a game-ending catch.

Meghan Gregg's three-RBI double in the third made it a 9-2 game and extended her RBI total to 57 on the season. Chelsea Seggern had two hits, including an RBI triple in the five-run Tennessee first inning.

The Vols (35-5, 9-3 SEC) never trailed during the weekend to notch their third consecutive series sweep.

Arnold pitched five innings, matching a season-best nine strikeouts. Matty Moss pitched the final two innings.

Breanne Ray was Tennessee's worst problem, going 3-for-4 and driving in all four Kentucky runs.

The Vols are home for five games this week, a double-header Tuesday against Tennessee State followed by a weekend series against Alabama.
