Tennessee sprinters win relays

The home team claimed four relay titles Saturday at the Tennessee Relays at Tom Black Track.

Tennessee's men and women swept the 4x100 and 4x400 on the final day of the meet.

Tennessee's foursome of Cidae'a Woods, Maia McCoy, Lenysse Dyer and Shania Collins cruised to a win in the 4x100 in 44.16 seconds. Later in the 4x400, Brooklynn Broadwater joined McCoy, Collins and Dyer to win in 3:34.93.

Christian Coleman, who claimed the men's 100 meters on Friday in a sizzling, wind-legal 10.03 clocking, ran legs on both relays Saturday and was named the Tony Wilson Award winner for men's track.

Coleman joined Bruce DeGrilla, Malik Elion and Nathan Strother to win the 4x100 in 39.65 seconds. Ari Cogdell replaced DeGrilla on the winning 4x400 relay in 3:05.61.

Woods also won the women's long jump with a mark of 20 feet, 2.25 inches.

Indiana's Sydney Clute set the facility and meet record in the pole vault (14-5.25) and was named the women's field Tony Wilson Award winner.

Rowing: Tennessee boats won all races but one in the Big 12 Double Dual at Melton Hill Lake on Saturday. Alabama, Old Dominion and West Virginia also entered. The Vols won all three varsity 8 races.
