WESTON - A steady stream of mourners gathered Wednesday to honor the generous and giving spirit of the Marathon Savings Bank assistant vice president who died in the eruption of gunfire last week in Rothschild, Schofield and Weston.

Dianne Look, 67, was one of four people who were shot and killed March 22. Her visitation and memorial service was held at the Brainard Funeral Home-Everest Chapel in Weston.

Look's Marathon Savings Bank colleague Karen Barclay, 62; attorney Sara Quirt Sann, 43, and Everest Metro Police Detective Jason Weiland, 40, also were killed. Investigators say the suspected shooter, Nengmy Vang, 45, of Weston was targeting his wife, who worked with Look and Barclay at the bank.

Look was the mother of two children, Christy Bleu and Chuck Mientke. She and her husband, Bob Look, a radio announcer for  WFHR-AM(1320) in Wisconsin Rapids, celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary Feb. 14.

A steady stream of people console and greet Bob Look at the visitation for his wife, Dianne Look.

"She was always smiling," seemed to be a refrain from people as they filed past dozens of photos of Dianne Look on display. She was smiling with dogs, smiling on her wedding day, smiling with grandchildren, smiling with friends and colleagues.

Roxie Kenitzer was a customer at Marathon Savings Bank. As Kenitzer shook Bob Look's hand, she told him that Dianne Look was the type of person her pastor told his congregation they should strive to be.

Later, Kenitzer said those qualities include being outgoing, caring and compassionate.

Dianne Look could make an impression in an instant with "her greetings, her smiles, her warmth. Her ability to connect with people," Kenitzer said. "Wouldn't that be an honor to her, to embody those things?"

Bob Look heard that comment more than once. After someone told him he was inspired by Dianne to be a better person, Bob smiled and said, "You'd have to reach a very high bar. After all, she put up with me all these years."

Earlier in the day, thousands, including local, state and federal law enforcement officers from across the country, attended Weiland's funeral at D.C. Everest Senior High School. More crowds gathered to watch as a miles-long procession of vehicles for Weiland wound its way through the metro area to the Brainard Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Wausau.

Many of the police and emergency responders who turned out for Weiland's funeral also attended Look's visitation. A handful of Everest Metro Police Department squad cars lined the street out in front of Brainard Funeral Home as the visitation began at 4 p.m.

The funeral service for Quirt Sann will be held at noon Saturday at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 3200 N. Mountain Road, Wausau. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service.

A service for Barclay will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 6  Saint Mark's Catholic Church at 602 Military Road, Rothschild.
