MU, UW both in Associated Press all-time top 100

The past success of Marquette and the current consistency of Wisconsin have both men’s college basketball programs among The Associated Press’ all-time top 100, which was released on Wednesday.

The Associated Press has been ranking the best teams in college basketball since January 1949. Over 68 years and more than 1,100 polls, a total of 200 schools have been ranked and 59 of them have been ranked No. 1.

Marquette is ranked No. 21 in the top 100 all-time poll with 366 points, thanks to an amazing run in the 1970s. MU was ranked in 99.4% of all AP polls in the decade.

Wisconsin is ranked No. 37 with 250 points. The Badgers are one of 10 Big Ten teams to be ranked in the top 50.

At No. 6, Indiana is the highest Big Ten school ranked in the poll and Georgetown is the top Big East school at No. 15.
