Those Hip Hop Guys: Huge hip hop tours you can't catch in Milwaukee

There’s a lot to look forward to, musically, in Milwaukee. We have Summerfest and, well Summerfest. Summerfest sometimes gives us a taste of the softer side of hip hop, but for real fans there is really no outlet.

Lil Wayne performs during a show at the Milwaukee Panther Arena in Milwaukee June 2016.

The Rave has been one of the only places that books more risqué acts like Travis Scott or Gucci Mane, both of whom are coming soon. Other than that, fans rarely get to see the acts that are obnoxiously played over-and-over on the radio or those so underground it makes them famous.

I’ve found myself having to travel to Chicago or even Madison to see an hip hop artist I really want to see. Why is that you ask? The lack of venues, the lack of audience and the lack of “safety."

This summer is going to be huge for hip hop tours. Pretty much everyone in the rap game has announced some sort of tour. Let’s take a look at some of the bigger ones that are totally swerving on Milwaukee.

21 Savage — Issa Tour

I’m not a fan but he’s kind of a big deal. Catch the tour in Chicago.

Chris Brown — The Party Tour

Well, at least 50 Cent will be there. Enjoy the trip to Chicago.

Future — Nobody Safe Tour

Wow….Migos, Young Thug and A$asp Ferg? There’s a backpack somewhere crying.

Lil Wayne — various tours

You can “cash” Wayne in Madison. Howbow Dah?

Big Sean — I Decided Tour

Big Sean is not bouncing back to Milwaukee.  See what I did there?

That’s enough. You see where I’m going here. We’re missing out on a lot in Milwaukee. Stay tuned for my next article that will be about the hip hop acts that ARE coming to Milwaukee. It’ll be short.
