GoVols247: In-state WR 'committed' to Vols but 'opening' recruitment

Sophomore wide receiver TJ Sheffield of Independence High School in Thompson's Station, Tenn., posted Monday on his Twitter account that he's still "committed" to Tennessee, but he's "opening my recruitment."

The 5-foot-10, 157-pound Sheffield — one of the Vols' two early commitments for the 2019 class, along with teammate and top-100 wide receiver Kendrell Scurry — joined Scurry in announcing that he has decided to explore other options while remaining committed to Tennessee as a result of the recent departure of former wide receivers coach Zach Azzanni.

Scurry, who has been committed to the Vols since July, made a similar announcement a week earlier.
