Vanderbilt forward Luke Kornet was named to the All-SEC first team on Tuesday.

Vanderbilt senior Luke Kornet picked up three All-SEC basketball awards, and two Tennessee players made the list released Tuesday.

Kornet, a 7-foot-1 center, was named All-SEC first team, all-defensive team and SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year. He is the first Vanderbilt men's basketball player to earn the SEC Scholar Athlete of the Year award, which was started in 2004.

Kornet has a 3.71 cumulative grade-point average and is majoring in engineering, computer science and mathematics. On the court, Kornet is averaging 13.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game this season. He is one block shy of Vanderbilt's career record of 204, held by Festus Ezeli.

Tennessee senior guard Robert Hubbs III was voted All-SEC second team, and forward Grant Williams was named all-freshman.

South Carolina’s Sindarius Thornwell was named SEC Player of the Year. Florida’s Mike White was Coach of the Year. Kentucky’s Malik Monk was Freshman of the Year. Florida’s Canyon Barry was tabbed Sixth Man of the Year. And Texas A&M’s Robert Williams was voted Defensive Player of the Year.

The SEC’s 14 head coaches voted on the awards. They were announced on the eve of the SEC Basketball Tournament, which begins Wednesday at Bridgestone Arena.
