Here's what items you can't bring to 2017 SEC Tournament games

The SEC announced plans for enhanced security at the conference's men's basketball tournament being held this week here in Nashville.

Fans arrive for the SEC Men's Basketball Tournament championship game at Bridgestone Arena, Sunday, March 13, 2016, in Nashville, Tenn.

Fans attending are encourage to arrive early and enter the Bridgestone Arena with clear bags. Tournament organizers are opening gates 75 minutes prior to the first game of each day to accommodate early arriving fans. The games start Wednesday, March 8 and conclude with the championship game on Sunday, March 12.

List of prohibited items: 

  • Purses larger than a small clutch bag 
  • Coolers
  • Briefcases
  • Backpacks
  • Fanny packs
  • Cinch bags
  • Seat cushions
  • Luggage of any kind
  • Computer bags and camera bags
  • Any bag larger than the permissible size (12” x 6” x 12”)

What type of bags are allowed?

  • Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12”
  • One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar)
  • Small clutch bags, no larger than 4.5” x 6.5”, with or without a handle or strap
  • An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at a gate designated for this purpose
