Ventura woman robbed in Grant Park

A Ventura woman was robbed in Grant Park, Ventura police reported.

Officers were contacted at 5:30 p.m. Friday by a woman who said she was parked in her car at Serra Cross Park when a man approached her. When the man demanded money from her, the victim complied by giving her wallet; however, when she refused to give him her necklace, the man brandished a knife and hit her in the face, causing minor injuries, according to police.

The woman was able to drive away, and she reported the robbery after she fled the area. She described the robber as a man in his late 20s with a goatee and mustache. He wore a black hoodie and black pants, police said.
