Light rain to arrive overnight in Ventura County

A light rain is on the horizon for Ventura County late Saturday into Sunday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

"We're looking at the rain to start late this evening or tonight, persisting through the morning hours," Robbie Monroe, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Oxnard, said Saturday.

"There's a slight chance of showers lingering through Monday in the mountains," Monroe said.

Rainfall estimates range from one-tenth of an inch to one-third of an inch. This is the only rain expected through Friday, according to forecasts.

Although cloud cover will raise low temperatures into the lower to mid-40s, high temperatures will remain below average through the weekend, in the upper 50s to around 60 degrees.
