UW rewards coach Paul Chryst, coordinator Joe Rudolph

Paul Chryst led the Badgers to a berth in the Big Ten title game in his second season at Wisconsin.

MADISON - Wisconsin head coach Paul Chryst and offensive coordinator Joel Rudolph have been rewarded for UW’s successful 2016 season.

According to amended compensation packages from UW:

Chryst receives a $500,000 raise to $3.2 annually beginning with the 2017 season. He will also receive an annual raise of $100,000 during the length of his contract, which runs through 2021.

Rudolph receives a raise of $80,000 to $650,000 for the 2017 and ’18 seasons.

Chryst has compiled a 21-6 record in two seasons at UW, including a 2-0 mark in bowl games.

UW opened the 2016 season unranked and played one of the more challenging schedules in the nation.

The Badgers won the Big Ten West Division title with a 7-2 record and then, after losing to Penn State in the league title game, handed Western Michigan a 24-16 loss in the Cotton Bowl.

UW finished 11-3 and was No. 9 in both top 25 polls.
