If you have’t indulged your seafood cravings at Tracy’s, you should know that this no-frills restaurant is considered the best place for seafood in Juneau. Famous for its king crab legs (served with a side of melted garlic butter) and crab bisque, the new location at 432 S. Franklin Street along Juneau’s waterfront will open on May 1.

Tracy’s new location will be inside the People’s Wharf building and within a stone’s throw from the cruise port as well as Mount Roberts Tramway.

The new restaurant is designed to operate as a fast-service and casual café with indoor and outdoor guest seating.

“The restaurant may look a little different but our service and our food, which has earned us the top ranking for Juneau restaurants on TripAdvisor for 11 years, will remain the same,” said Tracy’s King Crab Shack owner Tracy LaBarge.

What’s on the menu?

Pretty basic and perfect for anyone rushing back to their ship! You’ll find King crab legs with butter and garlic rolls, and Tracy’s original king crab bisque. Also on the menu are crab cakes and shrimp. Tracy will still source the wild seafood from Bristol Bay and Norton Sound.

In addition to the new Tracy’s, there are also three more restaurants in Juneau owned and managed by LaBarge; Salt, Saffron and McGivney’s Sports Bar and Grill. She also owns Hooked Seafood Company, a seafood processing plant, wholesaler and online storefront. For more information, please visit Tracy’s King Crab Shack.

Even though the cruise ships aren’t heading to Juneau, you can still celebrate National Crab Meat Day on March 9 and try this crab cake recipe!
