Milwaukee mayor lifts winter parking restrictions

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett on Monday lifted the city's winter parking restrictions, which had been scheduled to expire March 2, because of the lack of snow from an unseasonably mild winter.

If the situation changes and the city's Department of Public Works must conduct snow removal operations, the restrictions will resume, DPW spokeswoman Sandra Rusch Walton said.

Vehicle owners still need a valid overnight parking permit to park overnight on city streets, she said.
