Weekly Wrap-Up

Happy Friday, y’all! I’m not sure how happy it is here since it signals the end of our break week. {sigh} They always go by too quickly. Still, I think perhaps a week off has fortified us to make it until spring break.

Saturday, we picked up the pottery that we painted the week before. We were all really pleased with the way it turned out, for the most part. Brianna wishes she’d gotten better coverage on the red parts of hers, and I, apparently, am completely incapable of painting circles.

That’s okay, though. It was still fun and we definitely want to do it again. And, I’ve already enjoyed chili in my soup cup a couple of times, even without perfectly round circles.

We had a pretty low-key Valentine’s Day. I got cards for the kids, but no candy since we all still have candy sitting around from Christmas, and we’re all trying to eat healthier. I told them that their Valentine gift from me was break week. They were okay with that.

Jack hadn’t been acting himself for a few weeks, so we’ve been very excited to see his normal personality returning.

Megan’s boyfriend came over for dinner. Brianna had to work and Josh went to hang out with a friend, so we had a Valentine’s Day double-date at home with Megan and Connor. I’m sure they were both thrilled with our company. {grin}

So, I said Josh went to hang out with a friend, but there was a little more to it than that. He somehow talked Brian into letting him take the Mustang out for his first solo drive in it. That may not seem like a big deal if you don’t know my husband, but he’s very protective of that car. Josh is the only other person in the house who’s ever driven it – including me.

It’s probably going to be his car at some point, though, and he’s a good driver, so Brian let him take it. It was a big enough deal to make it to Josh’s Facebook page.

We finally bought a stainless steel storage shelf we’ve been eyeing at Costco. I guess that means that cleaning out and organizing the garage is on the agenda for the weekend. I’m working on getting myself psyched up. It’s one of those things that you don’t really want to do, but you feel productive and accomplished once it’s done.

See? I told you. I’m trying to psych myself up.

  1. I totally know what you mean about feeling productive and accomplished after doing something like organising the garage. I haven’t managed to do any organising this week off, but I blame the kids for asking to do maths and history. (I’m like, ‘what happened to my half term?!’ but I guess I must be doing something right though!)

    Glad to hear Jack’s getting back to normal. Our kitty reached 6 months this week. 8 hours after his boy-op he was jumping spreadeagled on top of our poor spaniel in his usual manner. I think that cat has super-powers. It’s been so cute watching him explore the outside for the first time.

    Have a brilliant weekend, Kris!

  2. I love how your pottery turned out! Also, I checked out your photography tips this week because I was blessed with a new camera. I tried the flash reflector tip and LOVE it! Thank you for sharing it!
