Packers Tailgate Tour headed north

GREEN BAY – This year's Packers Tailgate Tour heads north.

The annual event that includes team executives, players and former players will make stops in Medford, Ashland, Houghton, Mich., Rhinelander, and Iron Mountain/Kingsford, Mich., from April 4-8. Tailgate parties in each city will raise money for a local nonprofit organization. The customized tour bus also makes unannounced stops along the way.

Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy will be accompanied on the 12th annual tour by players Brett Hundley, Aaron Ripkowski and Jake Ryan, and former players Robert Ferguson, Ahman Green and Ryan Longwell.

Tickets for scheduled events are $30 and include food, giveaways, question-and-answer sessions and autograph sessions. General admission tickets for each event are $10 and include Q&A sessions and tailgate party activities. Food and drinks are extra. All proceeds go to the hosting organization.

Tickets go on sale at 8 a.m. Monday and can be purchased from the sponsoring organizations in each city.

» April 5, Bay Area Civic Center, 320 4th Ave. West, Ashland. Benefits Baynet (Bay Area Youth Network). Tickets at Ashland Chamber of Commerce, Carlson Building Svcs & Sup, River Rock Inn & Bait Shop and Neighborly Bar.

» April 6, Michigan Tech Student Development Complex, 600 Macinnes Drive, Houghton. Benefits Dial Help Community Support & Outreach Center. Tickets at Michigan Tech University Student Development Complex or online at tickets.mtu.edu.

» April 7, Rhinelander High School, 665 Coolidge Ave., Rhinelander. Benefits NATH Frederick Place, a homeless shelter. Tickets at Trig's service desk and Best Embroideries.

» April 8, Ford Airport, 2300 Woodward Ave., Kingsford, Mich. Benefits Northwoods Airlifeline. Tickets at Econo Foods and WJNR Radio, both in Iron Mountain.

The Green Bay Packers Tailgate Tour made a surprise stop at the 20th Avenue YMCA on June 17, 2016.  Packers players that are touring are Jared Abbrederis, Sam Barrington and Jayrone Elliott, and Packers alumni LeRoy Butler, Robert Brooks and Sean Jones.  The tour goes from June 17 to June 21.
