An inmate at the Kenosha County Detention Center is being evaluated for tuberculosis, the sheriff's office reported Monday.

The inmate was being housed in a dorm at the facility and was taken for medical treatment Friday after complaining of chest pain and shortness of breath, according to a news release from the Kenosha County Sheriff's Office.

Other inmates in the dorm and staff who have come in contact with them are also being tested and the inmates have been isolated, according to the release.

All inmates who enter the jail receive a skin test for tuberculosis soon after admission and the inmate in question tested negative, according to the release.

The sheriff's office is working with the Kenosha County Division of Health and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services to facilitate the testing procedures, according to the release.
