The University of Tennessee softball team sets date for Meet and Greet

The Tennessee softball team will hold its annual Meet and Greet for fans on Feb. 4 at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.

The event will run from 2:30-4:30 p.m. and include players giving tours of the complex, a kids carnival and open batting cages. During the second hour, Tennessee co-head coaches Ralph and Karen Weekly will address fans and introduce this year’s team followed by an autograph session with the players.

Fans can also discuss season ticket locations. Ticket office representatives will be available to assist fans from 2:30-3:30. Fans can purchase new season tickets or review their current season ticket location.

After the event, the softball team will be greeting fans at the entrances of Thompson-Boling Arena prior to tip-off of the Lady Vols women's basketball game against LSU at 7 p.m. The players and coaches will also be introduced at halftime.

The Vols are coming off a 43-16 season in which they reached their 13th consecutive NCAA regional and hosted a regional for the 12th straight year. UT returns 14 players from last season’s team, including All-SEC first team selection Meghan Gregg and SEC All-Freshman team selections Matty Moss, Brooke Vines and Aubrey Leach.

Tennessee begins the season with a doubleheader against Tennessee Tech and Middle Tennessee on Feb. 10 at the Eagle Round Robin in Statesboro, Ga. The Vols’ home opener is scheduled for March 2 when they kick off the Tennessee Invitational with a doubleheader against Southeastern Louisiana and Ohio at Lee Stadium. UT opens SEC play at home against South Carolina March 10-12.
