Morning Buzz: All eyes on injured receivers

All anyone seems to want to talk about is the Packers' injured wide receivers, so let’s start there. Tom Silverstein has the latest on the trio from Mike McCarthy.
McCarthy didn't rule out receivers Jordy Nelson (ribs), Davante Adams (ankle) and Geronimo Allison (hamstring), but he indicated they would definitely be on the sidelines if this weren't the NFC championship game.
"In the regular-season mindset, I would think none of them would play in this game. But obviously this is a different time, this is a different point where we are in the season. Everybody understands what’s on the line here."
The reason they wouldn't play in the regular season is fear of aggravating the injury and missing more than just a week or two. In this case, it's Super Bowl or bust.
Nelson took part in pre-practice drills with the offense, running routes at half speed and catching passes without being covered. He was not wearing shoulder pads so he wasn't scheduled to take part in the full-speed work. But it was the first sign that he's able to do some football activities. If all three don't play, the Packers have no plans to sign someone off the street.
Tom also writes on Jeff Janis and Trevor Davis possibly seeing more action if the above trio is unable to go.
Bob McGinn writes on Packers director of football operations Eliot Wolf withdrawing his name from consideration for the San Francisco 49ers general manager position. McGinn also writes that Packers director of player personnel Brian Gutekunst is the frontrunner for the same position.
Rookie safety Kentrell Brice saw a lot of action against the Cowboys and could see even more against the Falcons on Sunday, depending on Morgan Burnett’s status with his quad injury. Ryan Wood writes on the ups and down of Brice’s play.
