USA TODAY Sports' NFL divisional playoff picks

In the opinion of many, the NFL's divisional playoff round is the best football weekend on the calendar ... and let's at least hope it's better than the quartet of wild-card games, which were decided by an average of 19 points.

In addition to striving for berths in the conference championship games, four teams will be seeking revenge after losing to their upcoming opponent in the regular season. The NFC South-champion Atlanta Falcons will be first up on Saturday afternoon, as they hope to reach their first NFC title game since the 2012 season while trying to avenge a Week 6 loss at Seattle in which the Seahawks benefited from some dubious officiating.

On Saturday night, the underdog Houston Texans hope to perform far better than they did in a 27-0 loss at New England in Week 3.

Sunday afternoon begins with the Kansas City Chiefs hoping to issue payback to the Pittsburgh Steelers while winning their first postseason game at Arrowhead Stadium in more than two decades.

The final, perhaps most anticipated game, features the Dallas Cowboys and their star rookie combo of Ezekiel Elliott and Dak Prescott making its playoff debut in a bid to sweep Aaron Rodgers' torrid Green Bay Packers.
