Experimental jazz trio Stomata will perform on the year's first episode of "Local/Live" on WMSE-FM (91.7). The 6 p.m. performance will be broadcast from Club Garibaldi and is free to attend.

If you're still struggling to come up with a New Year's resolution, here's a suggestion: check out more local music in 2017.

And what do you know, you can start to do just that at 5:30 p.m. tonight at Club Garibaldi, 2501 S. Superior St. And it won't cost you a dime.

WMSE-FM (91.7)'s "Local/Live" broadcast tonight features experimental jazz trio Stomata, with Jay Anderson on woodwinds, Dave Schoepke on drums and John Simmons on upright bass. The trio will answer questions from the show's hosts Erin Wolf and Cal Roach, and preview material from its contribution to "Tribe Uncovered," a reinterpretation of the music of A Tribe Called Quest curated by local rapper and singer Klassik. "Tribe Uncovered," taking place Jan. 20 at Turner Hall Ballroom, is the first installment in the resurrected concert series created in 2013 for Alverno Presents, Alverno College's performing arts series that ended last year.

Tonight's program and concert ends at 7 p.m. You must be at least 21 years old to attend the show at Garibaldi.
