FORT MYERS, Fla. --- A woman angry her boyfriend ignored her birthday wish threatened and cut him with a knife, according to a police report.

Fort Myers Police Department said in a report that they were called to Kingsman Circle in Fort Myers after a man told them his girlfriend, Crystal A. Garlin, 32, cut him with a knife during an argument around 9 p.m. Friday.

The boyfriend told police they started arguing after he wouldn't pay for her to get her nails and hair done for her birthday. Court records indicate Garlin's birthday was Monday. He said the argument escalated and Garlin grabbed a knife. The boyfriend grabbed it to take it away and sustained a cut to his hand. He refused medical treatment, the report shows.

He then refused to answer additional questions about the knife, police said.

Officers could not find the knife during a search of the residence, saying there were many options.

Garlin had a different version of the wound. She said she and a female relative fought outside the home and after attempting to break up the fight, her boyfriend locked the house. He then attempted to climb through a broken window, cutting his hand.

Garlin was arrested and charged with battery causing great bodily harm. She was released Saturday on $10,000 bond.
