Man wounded in north side shootout

A 25-year-old man was wounded in an exchange of gunfire with another man on Milwaukee's north side, police said Monday.

The shooting was reported shortly before 10 p.m., Sunday in the 4000 block of W. Thurston Ave., according to a news release from the Milwaukee Police Department.

The man was taken to a hospital with an injury that is not life-threatening and the 19-year-old man who exchanged gunfire with him remained on the scene and was cooperating with police, according to the release.
