Holiday Train to roll through town

The lighted delight that is the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train will once again make stops in Milwaukee, Wauwatosa and beyond this week.

The 1,000-foot train, which features 14 cars decked out in holiday lights, brings with it live music performances from Kelly Prescott and Colin James while collecting donations for local food pantries.

Its first stop in Wisconsin is at the Sturtevant Amtrak Depot at 5:25 p.m. Monday before it makes its way to Milwaukee's Amtrak Depot for a stop at 6:50 p.m.

On Tuesday, the train heads to Wauwatosa for a stop at the Harwood Ave. crossing at 4:45 p.m. before moving on to Hartland for a stop at the parking lot at Cottonwood and Pawling avenues at 6:15 p.m. From there, it travels on to Watertown (Brandt Quirk Park, 7:45 p.m.) and Columbus (Amtrak Depot, 9:05 p.m.).

Each stop is about half an hour long and is free and open to the public, although donations are encouraged. Rides are not available on the train, but it is lighted for its entire journey, so you might be able to catch a glimpse of it between stops.
