Wreaths Across America to honor veterans

CAMARILLO — The public is invited to participate in the Wreaths Across America event at 9 a.m. Dec. 17 at Conejo Mountain Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 2050 Howard Road.

Fresh pine wreaths will be placed on veterans’ graves to honor their service. Local elected officials will participate and miniature therapy horses will be on hand. The event will coincide with similar observances across the country.

Program to provide immunizations, tests to families

CAMARILLO — The Camarillo Health Care District will offer immunizations, flu shots and TB testing to families from 3-5 p.m. Dec. 13 at 3639 E. Las Posas Road, Suite E117.

The monthly program is in partnership with St. John’s Regional Medical Center. Fees vary.

Author to sign book about Ventura County

OXNARD — Author Jeffrey Wayne Maulhardt will sign copies of his book, “Oxnard Sugar Beets … Ventura County’s Lost Cash Crop,” from 2-6 p.m. Saturday at the California Welcome Center at the Collection at RiverPark.

FCC amateur radio license testing offered

THOUSAND OAKS — The Conejo Valley Amateur Radio Club will be administering FCC amateur radio licensing examinations at 8:30 a.m. Sunday in the conference room of the East County Sheriff's Station, 2101 E. Olsen Road.

YMCA to host Breakfast with Santa

VENTURA — The Ventura Family YMCA will host its annual Breakfast with Santa from 8-10 a.m. Saturday at 3760 Telegraph Road.

The event will include treats, holiday crafts and festive games. Children will have the chance to visit and take photos with Santa.

The event is free with a donation of one unwrapped toy per person. All toy donations will be gifted to local low-income families through the ACTION Foundation of Ventura.
