Two people suffered gunshot wounds early Sunday in Ventura.

Ventura police and rescue crews responded to a report at 1:20 a.m. of a gunshot victim at Alessandro Drive and South Seaward Avenue. The victim was reportedly on the street in front of Golden China restaurant.

Police on the scene confirmed that the victim had suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and said CPR was being performed. The victim was apparently taken to a hospital by ambulance around 1:45 a.m.

Police were investigating a report that the victim had come from a black pickup and that the shooting may have taken place in the vehicle.

Meanwhile, police were told at about 1:30 a.m. that a person suffering a gunshot wound to the right shoulder had just come to Community Memorial Hospital. The victim showed up on a skateboard, a dispatcher said.

Police were investigating a possibility that the two incidents were related.
