ofbf

The Ohio Farm Bureau has concluded its annual meeting and delegates have set policy for the organization in 2017.

Leah Curtis with the Ohio Farm Bureau policy council says water quality and a commitment to clean water remains a top issue among Ohio farmers.

“Over the last two days we’ve discussed how we can continue that commitment including if any sort of certification program might be created, how can we make that program work for all parties involved,” says Curtis.

Curtis tells Brownfield Ohio farmers are also committed to wildlife management.

“Making sure farmers can address when they have issues with damage from wildlife, be that deer, vultures and others so we talked about that both at the state and the federal level so it’s a big concern for people today,” says Curtis

Curtis says the policies adopted by delegates at the annual meeting will inform the direction of the Ohio Farm Bureau in 2017.
