…for the tiny socks that somehow always disappear
…for the Cheerios that end up on the floor
…for the picky eating we constantly bargain with
…for the long sleepless nights that no amount of coffee can mend
These things I am thankful for.
…for the potty humor and goofy grins
…for the lazy mornings and cuddles in bed
…for the road trips, plane rides, and weekends away
…for princesses, light saber fights, and movie nights
These things I am thankful for.
…for the times I want to scream
…for the times we’re always late to everything
…for the moments I feel like I’m doing it all wrong
…for the “mom guilt” that consumes my thoughts
These things I am thankful for.
…for tiny hands that feel so small in mine
…for the “I love you, mommy”s
…for the light in their eyes and souls
…for the hope and the pride within me
These things I am thankful for.
These moments have built me, broken me, shaped me, and taught me. Motherhood is a challenge, a journey, a fill of emotions, chaos, and stillness all at the same time. Motherhood has clouded me so much that I’ve seen clearly, and been so clear that I’m confused.
I’m thankful for the challenges, the highs, and the lows.
These complicated, messy, inexplicable, difficult, and beautiful moments are what make life worth living. I’m thankful I get to hold the best title ever: Mom.
