Grain buyers hear new innovations

A representative with the US Grains Council says a delegation of grain buyers was in Ohio recently to learn about innovation in agriculture.

Malek Djebaili from Algeria tells Brownfield the group were curious about new technologies available in DDGs.

“For example earlier this afternoon we talked about metabolism digestibility of DDG’s so we always have something new to learn” says Djebaili.

The group, which had buyers from Algeria, Lebanon, and Jordan also toured an Ohio Poet ethanol plant. Chairman of the Ohio Corn Checkoff Keith Truckor says the tours build relationships and creates opportunity for the US corn industry.

“By visiting that Poet facility in Fostoria, they had great questions for the manager down there and got a lot of great information. So we fully anticipate them to buy more DDG’s from these ethanol plants in and around the Midwest.” says Truckor.

The delegation’s visit to Ohio was part of the recent Export Exchange Conference.
