Adams Co. escaped inmates still at large, records show

Update, Oct. 19:

Tabitha Murphy and Charles Matherly II both still have warrants out for their arrests, according to court records filed with District Judge Matthew Harvey.

Murphy and Matherly left the prison with other inmates for work release at the 400 block of Moulstown Road in Hanover, according to an affidavit filed with Harvey.

The shift supervisor called Lt. John Booth, Adams County Prison Supervisor, to inform him that the two inmates could not be found, the affidavit states.

State police are searching for two Adams County Prison inmates who failed to return after work release, according to a news release.

Charles Matherly II, 28, of Hanover and Tabitha Murphy, 27, of Greencastle were released on Wednesday for work purposes, according to police. The escape was reported at 7 p.m.

A warrant has been issued for the apprehension of Matherly and Murphy, according to the news release.
