Via The Points Guy, Hotel Tonight has started its own rewards program, “HT Perks.”

With the Hotel Tonight app, you can book last-minute hotels and sometimes save money.  And through HT Perks, they’re offering folks even more savings.

With Hotel Tonight’s New Loyalty Program, You Can Save Even More on Last-Minute Hotel Bookings

I’ll explain how the HT Perks rewards program works.  And help you decide whether it’s worth it.

The Hotel Tonight app is a free mobile app (Apple or Android) that lets you find discounted hotel rooms up to 7 days in advance.

If you book last-minute hotels, sometimes you can save money using the Hotel Tonight app.  And if you haven’t already signed-up for Hotel Tonight, you can use my promotion code “ddubash” to earn a $25 credit on your first booking.

Plus, you can save even more with Hotel Tonight’s new loyalty program, HT Perks.

The HT Perks Program

There are 3 levels to Hotel Tonight’s HT Perks program.  The more you spend, the higher your status.  And the higher your status, the more of a discount you’ll receive.

Level 1
  • Spend $100+ with Hotel Tonight
  • Extra-discounted rates
Level 2
  • Spend $750+ with Hotel Tonight
  • 5% off Level 1 rates
  • Exclusive offers and surprises
Level 3
  • Spend $5,000+ with Hotel Tonight
  • 10% off Level 1 rates
  • More exclusive offers and surprises than Level 2
  • VIP customer support

The good news is, any bookings you’ve made in the past count towards your status.  And your status will never expire.

Keep an Eye Out for the HT Perks Badge!

Be aware, NOT all hotels are eligible for HT Perks.  Those that are participating in the program will show up with a badge saying “HT Perks.”

Is It Worth It?

I’d rather book directly with a hotel or use points for free nights.  Because you don’t always save a lot more using the Hotel Tonight app.  And when you do use the app, your reservation is non-refundable.

You will NOT earn hotel points or stay credits for your booking.  And there’s no guarantee you’ll have your elite status recognized (though it never hurts to try!).

Plus, other 3rd-party sites like Orbitz, Expedia, and Hotels.com, have their own rewards programs.  And some are more flexible than HT Perks, because some bookings are refundable, and you can earn rewards for things like flights and car rentals too.

But, using Hotel Tonight and their HT Perks program might be worth it for folks who aren’t loyal to a particular hotel program or prefer non-chain and boutique hotels.  Or who have a lot of paid hotel stays.  Because to reach Level 3 of the HT Perks program and get the most savings, you’ll have to spend $5,000+!

That said, it’s always worth comparing prices to make sure you’re getting the best deal.

For example, I found a room for tonight, September 30, 2016, at the Hotel Monaco in Seattle for $256 using the Hotel Tonight app.  That same room costs ~$267 on Hotels.com.  So you’d save ~$11 with Hotel Tonight.

You’ll Save ~$11 on a Room Tonight, September 30, 2016, at Hotel Monaco in Seattle if You Book Through Hotel Tonight Instead of Hotels.com

But booking a room directly through the hotel costs ~$266, and you’d earn Kimpton Rewards points.

As always, do the math to decide what’s best for you.

Bottom Line

With Hotel Tonight’s new loyalty program, HT Perks, you’ll get additional discounts depending on how much you’ve spent on Hotel Tonight bookings.

While some folks could save with this program, especially those who aren’t loyal to a particular brand or prefer non-chain and boutique hotels, I’d rather use points for free nights or book directly through the hotel.

Because when you use Hotel Tonight, your reservation is non-refundable and you will NOT earn hotel points or stay credits for you booking.  And you likely won’t get elite status perks.

That said, it’s always worth checking prices to make sure you’re getting the best deal.

And don’t forget, if you haven’t already signed-up for the Hotel Tonight app (Apple or Android), you can use my promotion code “ddubash” to get a $25 credit on your first booking.
