WRDA passes the US House
The US House passed its version of the Water Resources Development Act Wednesday evening with overwhelming support.
The bill authorizes the US Army Corp of Engineers water infrastructure projects for navigable waters, inland waterways, ports, and flood control.
Illinois Representative Rodney Davis says these projects often wait several years before construction can begin – and it costs American agriculture.
The measure also includes funding for infrastructure projects on major US waterways.
The House and the Senate now need to meet to reconcile the differences between the two bills.
Congress is expected to pass the conference report during its lame duck session after the November election.
