Ohio State University vet college receives $39 million donation

The Ohio State University has received a large financial donation for the College of Veterinary Medicine. A donation of $39 million dollars was made to the university by the Stanton Foundation.

In a statement, Ohio State president Michael Drake says $20 million dollars from the gift will establish a program called “Building Preeminence in Veterinary General Practice Education” and the other $19 million will be create an endowed chair position in dog health and wellness, fund seven faculty and 12 staff positions, build a clinical lab and will purchase a mobile unit for the college’s Outreach Medicine Program.

The Stanton foundation was named for OSU alum Frank Stanton who led CBS from 1946 through 1971. The foundation regularly donates funds to causes that promote dog wellness as well as other animals.
