Man drowned in Mitchell Park Lagoon

A man who drowned in the Mitchell Park Lagoon Sunday morning was identified as Richard Poblitz, 64, of Milwaukee.

According to the Sheriff's office, deputies were called to the lagoon by a woman who saw a man enter the water around 7 a.m. Milwaukee Fire Department divers located him and were able to resuscitate him at the scene. But the man died around 8:30 a.m. at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center.

Sheriff’s detectives notified the family of Poblitz and are conducting a death investigation.
