Child dies in Menomonee Falls pool

A 2-year-old boy died Monday afternoon after he was found unresponsive in a swimming pool at N87-W14901 Fond du Lac Ave., Menomonee Falls Police said.

The boy's father attempted to resuscitate him before police officers and firefighters arrived at 2:45 p.m. and continued lifesaving efforts, Village Police Lt. Kevin Von Bank said.

The child was taken by ambulance to Community Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 4:23 p.m.

The boy's death appears to be accidental and the incident remains under investigation, according to Von Bank. Names of the victim and family members were not released Monday.
