A Milwaukee teen has been charged with committing two carjackings in two days, less than two weeks after completing a juvenile sentence for robbery, court records show.

Cameron D. Crawford

Cameron D. Crawford, 17, was charged with two counts of armed carjacking and two counts of illegally possessing a gun. The gun charges stem from previously being found delinquent of robbery, a felony, in Children's Court. Crawford was bound over for trial last week on the new charges, which were filed in Milwaukee County Circuit Court on Aug. 13.

According to the criminal complaint:

The first carjacking was reported about 10:15 p.m. Aug. 6 in the 4400 block of N. 53rd St. A 27-year-old woman told police she was walking toward her car when a young man and two young women approached her. The man pointed a gun at her and demanded her keys, which she handed over, and the three fled in her car.

Two days later, a 26-year-old woman called police to report a man stealing her car at gunpoint in the 2700 block of N. Shepard Ave. on the east side. The woman said she feared she would be killed and gave her keys to the man, who drove away in her car.

The next day, Aug. 9, Milwaukee police received an anonymous tip that Crawford had committed the east side robbery. Detectives assembled a photo line-up and the victim identified Crawford as the person who carjacked her. That same day, police arrested Crawford and searched his home. Under his bed, police found the license plates for the woman's car that had been stolen on Aug. 6.

When detectives interviewed Crawford he admitted to both carjackings. Crawford said the gun he used was real and he had traded a pair of Cartier glasses for the firearm Aug. 3. The criminal complaint indicates Crawford was found delinquent of robbery in a 2012 juvenile case and was officially discharged in that case Aug. 1.

Crawford remained in Milwaukee County Jail Monday on $100,000 bail. His next court hearing is scheduled for Sept. 13.
