1 killed, 2 hurt in Milwaukee gunfire

A 23-year-old Milwaukee man was shot and killed while driving in the 2200 block of W. Keefe Ave. about 12:30 p.m. Monday, police said. A 22-year-old man and a 24-year-old man, both of Milwaukee, suffered what are believed to be non life-threatening injuries and were transported to a hospital.

Milwaukee Police investigate a car that was shot up and a person killed, shown here being transported at N.22nd St. and W. Keefe Ave.  Its the gold car 2nd in from left, that was hit.  Talk on the street says others were transported from the scene to the hospital.  The Medical Examiners office is transporting this person.  The black screen is to shield the deceased from the public.

Neighbors said they heard the car was a part of a funeral procession. A woman at the scene said the man was fatally shot was returning from a funeral for his grandfather when a passing vehicle fired the shots.  A van parked nearby had an orange funeral procession decal.

The Milwaukee Police Department is working to determine what led up to the incident and is seeking suspects.
