Safco buys Sheboygan furniture manufacturer

Mayline Co. LLC, a manufacturer of office furniture based in Sheboygan, will be sold to furniture supplier Safco Products Co. of Minneapolis under a deal announced Thursday.

Mayline, a Baird Capital company, while Safco is a subsidiary of Liberty Diversified International, also based in Minneapolis.

Mayline employs 220 people at two locations, its Sheboygan factory and headquarters and its distribution center in North Little Rock, Ark. Mayline got its start in 1939 making drafting tables as the Engineering Supply Co. and is a mid-market contract manufacturer.

The sale is expected to be completed in September.
