Today we are looking at the newly released book How the Post Office Created America A HISTORY by Winifred Gallagher. The 336 pages book was released on June 28, 2016.
With yesterday being the day in 1775 that the US postal system was established the timing seems perfect for today’s blog post to be about this new book; it was also on July 26, 1775 that Ben Franklin became the first Postmaster General.

It was over at the Postal History Foundation that I noticed the book being promoted.
Penguin Random House describes the book as:
