Ex-WMU star Greg Jennings retires from NFL

Receiver Greg Jennings, who played in the NFL for 10 seasons after being drafted out of Western Michigan, has decided to retire from football.

Jennings announced his retirement on a YouTube video.

Jennings, 32, was drafted by the Packers in the second round in 2006. He went to Kalamazoo Central and at WMU was the 2005 MAC Offensive Player of the Year in 2005, with 98 catches, 1,259 receiving yards and 14 TD.

In 10 NFL seasons with the Packers, Vikings and Dolphins, Jennings totaled 571 catches, for 8,291 yards and 64 TD.

He made the Pro Bowl in 2010 (76 catches, 1,265 yards) and 2011 (67 catches, 949 yards) with the Packers. He had three 1,000-yard receiving seasons in Green Bay.
